Caldmore Welcomes New Chairperson for Offserve

On the 31st March 2009, tenants of Caldmore elected a new committee the members are as follows:

Melvyn Shaw – Chairperson – Highgate area
Robert James – Vice Chairperson – Chuckery area
Chris Edwards – Secretary - Butts area
Pam Lane – Treasurer – Highgate area

You will all know or have read about Melvyn Shaw, as his profile was advertised in the winter edition of Local Gossip in line with the process agreed for election of the Chair.

In Mel’s profile he included his vision for Offserve and include in this was the aim to: “re-energise to build on it’s (Offserve’s) foundations, becoming more inclusive by finding new ways to engage residents who may not be available during the daytime and by reaching out to young people and those from minority communities, if we fail to move forward I fear the panel will stagnate and risk intervention from our regulators”. He has also suggested that the time may be right to change the name Offserve, and he would like your suggestions. The panel meeting for April has been cancelled due to the AGM being held two days before the planned meeting.

Offserve will be unertaking some inportant changes over the next few weeks.We also plan to make some changes to the Offserve sites to reflect these changes.

A very special thanks to Caldmore Housing Management for the Christmas Lunch at Farmer Johns-a nice time was had by all.

madeleine holland is now Acting Chair and she says that George Lane is a very hard act to follow but endeavours to do her best until AGM. Madeleine does keep in touch with George for advice and guidance and she wishes to thank the Board Members for their support in the run up to to the AGM. But we will do our best as always.Best wishes to everyone for Christmas&NewYear

Two new `mini`sites have now been added to the main Offserve site.They are for Wollaston Court and a new general site for any new tenant groups that are formed.Both of these new `sites` are at an early stage of delvelopment.If you have any suggestions for content please let us know.

Dates for the panel meetings for the first halk of 2009 have now been posted online.

The meeting of November 12th had to be held in a different office due to a mix up with the booking of the Boardroom.This was dispite the fact the booking was comfrimed quite some time ago.


Our Chairman has had to take extended leave due to medical issues.He has been told to rest on doctors orders.There will be a disscusion with regard to this in the members area.In the meantime we all wish him a speedy recovery.

Area Websites:
I plan to create `mini` websites for other tenant groups as soon as possible.These will be linked via the main Offserve website in order to make general access easier.However the Avion Close will remain seperate for the time being as there site was set up as an experiement,but has since been judged a success.

If any tenenat group has any information,along with pictures then please let us know. In the meantime,i`am please to annonce that Wollaston Court will be the first to be linked as above.

The formal structure plan has been shown and agreed at the Caldmore Housing AGM today. Today is also the official lauch of the new Caldmore logo and website. The senior Offserve team would like to thank everyone at Caldmore for there help and support. We would also like to thank Barry Blower for his support.

A formal structure plan is being drawn up to define roles for both panel members and those who may wish to take part.Further details to be given as soon as possible.

We are pleased to annonce that a residents meeting has been arranged for October 14th at 6.30pm St Marys School,Jesson Road.This is for tenants of Avion Close only.Notices have been sent to all tenants,along with a form to be completed if any tenant has any issue they wish added to the agenda.This must be returned no later that September 22nd.No items can be added after this date.Further information avalable by request or via the Avion Close Website.

Wanted:
We have a need for an Assistant Secretary.This person should b able to attend the Offserve office at least once per weeek,as well as monthly meetings.Your role would be to assist in taking and distribution of minutes & agendas to members within a limited time frame.

We are also in need of new panel members who wish to undertake the following roles: Disability / Minorities & Sexual Orintation.

Re: July edition of Gossip.Offserve aim to have a full responce to comments raised in the July edition in the next Gossip which we understand is being planned for September.Members of the panel have been making fantastic efforts to bring the office up to date as well as inprovements such as this web site.We aim to continue to inprove.
